Shawna Restarts The World
February, 2004
Steel rod, copper wire, globe, canvas, wax, fabric dye, brass faucet, steel pipe and base, aluminum foil

This piece commemorates an event that happened after my friend Shawna was hospitalized due to a schizophrenic episode. When she was released, my girlfriend and I took her to places of significance in her life, hoping to ease her back into normal existence. On our way, she insisted on stopping at a public restroom, where she plugged the drain with aluminum foil and turned on the faucet saying, "The world has stopped. When the water fills up and reaches the overflow drain, the world will be restarted."
